4 Quick Gifts I Made My Husband
Gift-giving is a great way to show your love and appreciation for your partner. It can be difficult to find the perfect gift, especially when you’re on a tight budget. That’s why I decided to make my husband four quick gifts that were both thoughtful and inexpensive. Here’s what I came up with:
1. A Photo Collage
I gathered some of my favorite photos of us together and created a collage. I used a free online photo editor to arrange the photos in a creative way and printed it out on a large piece of cardstock. I framed the collage and gave it to my husband as a surprise. He was so touched by the thoughtful gift and it’s now proudly displayed in our living room.
2. A Custom Mug
I found a plain white mug and used a permanent marker to write a funny message on it. I also drew a few small pictures to make it even more special. My husband loves coffee, so this was the perfect gift for him. He now uses the mug every morning and it always puts a smile on his face.
3. A Homemade Card
I made a homemade card for my husband using construction paper, markers, and glue. I wrote a heartfelt message inside and decorated the outside with some of his favorite things. He was so touched by the gesture and it’s now one of his most treasured possessions.
4. A Scrapbook
I gathered some of our favorite photos and memories and put them together in a scrapbook. I included photos, ticket stubs, and other mementos from our time together. I also wrote a few heartfelt messages throughout the book. My husband was so surprised and he loves looking through the scrapbook whenever he needs a reminder of our love.

Hey just found you. Wherein NC are you
I didn’t even think about making the hot pad for my husband’s work. Bowl cozies are a great idea also.
You learned us men so well. Keep it up.
After working outside all day even in winter, husband has cold feet. I sewed rice packs that I heat in microwave. He uses them (so do I) when lounging in the couch, I put them under the sheets by the foot area of our bed to pre warm sheets in winter n of course we use them around the back of our shoulders or back when there’s an ache or pain. I’ve placed one (not too hot) in the stroller to keep baby warm too.
I have made all apart from your coffee holder for friends and family and they loved them but husband is a nightmare to sew for. I have made him Waterproof Hiking Gaiters and Gaiters to wear when strimming the grass to keep jeans clean. I have made him snap shut glasses cases. He does a lot of fishing and puts his glasses in his shirt pocket then loses them over the side of the boat or river Bank so made him a case with a carabiner clip so he can attach to his belt loops. Running out of ideas now but if your man plays sport maybe something to do with that, a wrap for fishing rods was a successful one. All his fishing rods come apart and this is something so easy to make, just like a jewellery wrap but bigger with compartments then roll up. Made a microwave heat pad, hand warmer pads and a hot water bottle cover cos at over 70 he needs that sort of thing 😂. Can't think of anything else to make, he doesn't play games so a bag no good, rarely watches TV so remote caddy no good, it's getting harder to think of something to sew, maybe a cushion for the boat or a gardening kneeling pad.
Great video on sewing for men! Very helpful!👍
I'm here because it's fathers day on sunday and I forgot hahaha
I bought golf fabric for elastic shorts for my husband to wear at the lake
Women like pillow case for birthday. I make them for kids birthday party give away. I embroidery their name on them. Older boys like baseball or football
I make my hubby pj pants using novelty fabrics. He has a pair with tractors, another with aeroplanes, etc. He loves them, and I love making them.
Thank you for the ideas. I made a pillow case for my husband from cap't marvel fabric and gave it to him at Christmas. Thank you for your video.
Video idea…could you show us how to make those little potholders to use with instantpots? I think they are fingers thumb potholders. Thanks… Betty in TX
The Etsy link didn’t work.
I made several of the oversize hot pads, and they turned out great. I didn't have a walking foot, so I had to get one. It's a game-changer! The ideas for men are great also!
Love the beverage coosie idea. Fabulous scrap buster idea. I made suit bags for all the men on my list this year and they were a big hit. To your point, the fabric choice made the difference for their garment bags. I used camouflage fabric for one, and a plaid for another. One comment was that they wouldn’t necessarily buy a garment bag for themselves, which, to me makes it a better gift idea.
All great ideas. I had not thought about this at all. Thanks
I've made pockets for the wheelchair bound and pockets to hang from walkers. Love your ideas! I pick up fabric at garage sales for next to nothing.
What cool ideas! Thank you! It does give me ideas for a jumpstart for next year. 🤗💕
I love the Friends fabric!
My husband misplaced the TV remote and he reads in front of the TV. So I did a long kind of table runner with big pockets at the end with the same material I upholstery his throne chair (the one in front of the TV). I placed the “table runner” along the arms of the chair and under the seat cushion (I hope this makes sense to you). He loves it: he has his remote, book, tablet, drink and even the Bengay inside the big pockets that hangs at the sides of the chair arms. He has everything a king may needs close in one place, in front of the TV! I sewed more things for him, but this is what he likes the most!
Great and clever ideas. Thanks. Ann from Va.
Love the video an ideas. I made bowl holders for the people in my department a few years ago an everyone loved them and several of them asked for more of them. It can be challenging to find fabric for men sometimes especially if they arent sports or star wars fans. I like the coffee sleeves. And i agree the key for sewing for men is the fabric choice.
