5 Things I Wish I Had Known Before I Started Homeschooling
Homeschooling is becoming an increasingly popular option for parents who want to provide their children with a quality education. While homeschooling can be a rewarding experience, it can also be overwhelming and challenging. Before you decide to homeschool your children, it’s important to be aware of the potential pitfalls and challenges that come with it. Here are five things I wish I had known before I started homeschooling.
1. It Takes Time and Patience
Homeschooling is not a quick fix for your child’s education. It takes time and patience to develop a successful homeschooling program. You will need to be prepared to invest a significant amount of time and energy into creating a curriculum, finding resources, and teaching your child. It’s also important to be patient with your child as they learn and adjust to the new environment.
2. You Need to Be Organized
Organization is key when it comes to homeschooling. You will need to create a schedule and stick to it. You will also need to keep track of your child’s progress and make sure they are completing their assignments on time. It’s important to stay organized and on top of things to ensure your child is getting the most out of their homeschooling experience.
3. You Need to Be Flexible
Homeschooling requires flexibility. You will need to be able to adjust your schedule and curriculum as needed. You may also need to be flexible with your expectations and be willing to adjust your teaching style to meet your child’s needs.
4. You Need to Have Support
Homeschooling can be a lonely experience. It’s important to have a support system in place to help you through the process. This could include other homeschooling parents, online support groups, or even a local homeschooling co-op. Having a support system in place will help you stay motivated and on track.
5. You Need to Have Fun
Homeschooling should be an enjoyable experience for both you and your child. Make sure to incorporate fun activities into your curriculum and take time to enjoy the process. This will help keep your child engaged and motivated to learn.

Best advice… DONT TALK TO ANYONE WHO DOESN'T LISTEN TO YOU
my homeschooling is about life lessons. me as a kid i am 13 and homeschooling is the best we do chores around the house to help the family out and also regular text books but its nothing that pressures us and we dont have to do it all in one day. we also read and learn cooking and go to shops for working out prices of everything which is part of life lessons. the best parts and relieving parts are one: not needing to wear uniform and feel uncomftorble, two: no one gets bullied or made fun of, three: no homework to stress us out!! best decision is doing homeschooling. <3
Best advice, God gave you two ears and one mouth….we should listen twice as often as we speak.
Do anyone have to control your homeschooling in your country or do you have freedom as a parent?
Omg you are amazing!!! So helpful and inspiring! It’s really hard to homeschool multiple kids of different ages . So thank you for your positivity and tips!
Love God more than your Parents. Just wanted to add that I never intended to become a Teacher because I used to help make materials for homeschooled students as a fun side job. Well after all the hours I did that and enjoyed it, I still use a lot of the ideas I had in my classroom discussions today in public school. You would be surprised how many choices many Teachers make about using products originally designed for small homeschooling groups.
Take the best, leave the rest!
And
Do your best. Then, When you know better, do better.

Angela Braniff,
That's a rough place to go–re-thinking how we educated our children. I am a former homeschool dad, and I would do many things different. I operated under the misunderstanding that the gold standard was my local districts curriculum standard. Little did I realize that many subjects can be combined within one class–a class that teens would enjoy.
For example, I now offer a Religious Journalism curriculum that includes 1) Journalism 2) Critical thinking 3) Points of authority 4) Bibliography citations 5) Internet technology 6) Mastering a YouTube blog 7) Entrepreneurship.
It's so much easier to measure success by the dollars your kids make. Naked simplicity.
And I agree, the hardest job I've ever had was homeschooling. Wow! Was that ever hard.
Hi, thank you for the video. I can’t seem to find the videos of the homeschooling mommas you watch.

Not about home schooling, but Life changing… (It is none of your business what others think of you!)
I learned really quickly that it's only hard if you are trying to do what schools do. Remember why u took them out. Period
Creative and critical thinking❤

5 Things I Wish I Had Known Before I Started Homeschooling
1. There's a difference between homeschooling vs. doing school at home. Do you want it to be a lifestyle?
2. Resist the urge to compare. Don't waste time on things that you see aren't working.
3. Know that its a difficult refining journey.
4. Don't give up – know that there are solutions to every problem, just need to figure it out.
5. Homeschooling can have so many beautiful magical moments together. Read together!
how does it work for when it comes time to attend college?
We just moved to Portugal almost a year ago from Spain. Portugal has two options: homeschooling and something like online studies. Homeschooling is gonna be a little of it difficult because I have to proof that I speak Portuguese and an alternative language like French or German ( my daughter 12yo chose french this year) etc etc. I hope we can do it next year. We want to travel and Maybe online studies could be an option for us, we'll see.
My kids and I wrote an activity book 📚 series while homeschooling. If you like cute, educational activities for your kids we would love for you to check out our activities books #sdp123
