Id like to point out that this is quite difficult to do if you live with multiple people, some of which wont give up junk food and will buy it on their own. especially if you are the kid in the situation it is very difficult to convince the adults to stop buying junk food. especially since junk food is often cheaper than healthier stuff and requires less prep usually.

Be a man with minimal hormonal fluctuations, no hereditary illnesses, no illnesses requiring medication that causes weight gain and with a small and easily satiated appetite. Oh and be able bodied. Yeah we're not all starting with the same bodies. It is much easier for some than others and I wish people would realise this. Some people are even genetically skinny and no matter what they eat they don't gain. So the reverse has to be true also that for some it's very hard because they have to eat very little in order to lose.
My problem is I’m 24 and able to drive to a dollar general full of snacks about 3 minutes away… lol. Its pretty bad actually, I can’t control myself when I want something. I will leave at any time of day multiple days a week just to cook something I saw on the internet. My car is the problem. Also boredom. Shopping for groceries is something to do. Even if my intention is healthy food I see the snacks and have to grab. I didn’t always have this issue so I don’t know what the deal is now.
