Tours at key milestones make sense … bud/bloom time when stuff is breaking dormancy or new plantings are blooming … and harvest time too.
I have 70 5-gallon buckets of all garden vegetables plus 2 stacking towers of 10 levels each. It's all I can do to keep up with all of that. How do you keep up with all of your vegetables and your trees and your herbs and everything? Garden tasks are never ending!! But so enjoyable! I love your walk throughs to see your progress. I installed my tomato hooks today. Do you use straw to top off your beds? If so what kind?
Whenever you think signicant progress has occurred. Love seeing the progress to "expect,"
i love once a month tours, but i dont always manage to keep up. i do like the "tasks i need to do this month" also
You're doing awesome – whatever you can manage, Brian! Once a month seems like a good track.
Nice informative garden tour. I have 4 Vego beds and since we re-did the side yard, I have more garden ground space than ever. The Scrub Jays and Crowned Sparrows are going after the green beans and I have had to start them over 3 times. We have Gophers now who came from the neighbor's weedy yard . The cats took care of 3 , but the one ( or more ) that are remaining are wreaking havoc and took out a big Zucchini plant . I have sandy loam soil but added compost and rich soil and hope for a great garden year …after I get rid of the Gophers. You have a great plan in your garden paradise .
Quarterly – half hour.
Hi Brian. Everything is coming along beautifully! It was very nice to see how everything is doing🦋🐝👵🏻👩🌾❣️
I love any update videos. Every other month for everything except the vegetable garden would be great. Vegetables probably need more frequent tours. Just my two cents.
Your Garden Tour on the Fly is my preferred style. Too Perfect always makes me wonder how many employees did the actual work. I also luv that your videos feel like hanging out with a friend rather than a garden center class.
I love long videos, at least 30 minutes or longer because I learn so many things from you. You could do a garden tour every day and I'd never complain!!
As long as turnips aren't spongy they are good .
Do your garden tour when you think it's time for an update
Love the garden tours. It helps seeing your process and hearing about your plans as you go along. It's also inspiring to learn that even with all your gardening experience, you're trying new things (i.e. turnips), and having some of the same challenges we are. I'm impressed with how you roll with surprises or things that don't work (i.e. potted plants that grow up instead of over!), and believe it or not, I get most of my ideas from those work-arounds. I know things must seem messy and chaotic to you, but it's one of the neater work spaces I've seen. 😊Plus, I don't know how you manage to do all this work, and deliver content on YT — on 2 channels!!!
Great job
I would love a monthly tour if you have time 😊
This may be off topic, but when should I fertilize my tomatoes? I understand twice a week but should I add the Neptune's harvest before I water them or after they are watered? This can be towards Brian or anyone that knows. Thanks, I'm new to gardening.
Love the garden tours and I think monthly would be good!
Brian Wow what a beautiful garden you have……love all your videos and have learned a lot….. could you please tell me what kind of wood shavings you bought at the feed store because I would like to buy some too at my local feed store as a mulch…….. oh and I let the Neptune Harvest site know that I learned about their product from you…….. and can you tell me if kelp extract is necessary along with fish emulsion as a water soluble fertilizer? Someone else use kelp extract, but I can’t find it anywhere. I found kelp meal from Neptune harvest. Hope you can respond. Thank you.
You should open up a way to get paid for personalized designing advice! 😅
This garden tour was PERFECT! I’d love to see them once a month please.
I think a small water feature would look lovely in that space in the Mediterranean garden.
My dad would walk on his onions kinda breaking the stalk to bend the stalks over and the bulb would get lots bigger.
Hi Brian: I would like a monthly garden tour. I'm in the Sacramento area and like being able to compare your results with mine. It is so nice to have a garden channel based in CA .
👍👍👍👏👏
I saw your dill plant, and I have to ask, how do you keep it from going to seed before harvesting it? Once it goes to seed, I find it too strong, and it's only good for pickling not regular consumption. Thanks so much from Canada, love your channel!
Rabbits will eat beans etc.
Love just watching the progress and changes as your new place evolves. Thanks for sharing your time and inspiration 😊
Love the garden tours! The more the merrier. I’m dying to see the espaliered fig tree! Have three fig trees I grew from starts. A wonderful friend coached me as they rooted. Now I need to control their growth as my yard is small and neighbors don’t want fig sprouts. Recommendations anyone?
Have you found any reason to not use Kellogg organic raised garden mix? Can we be certain there is no grazon from Kellogg's gatherings. I know I have found plastic bits and rubber bits in the Kellogg. I'm not terribly worried by those items as much as does the company concern itself with not gathering materials from areas where grazon was used.
Loved this video. Really appreciated seeing a working garden, unfinished and in progress. This is relatable and you showing challenges with critters was great as many of us also have the now you see now you don’t moments. Keeping it real makes us know we can all do something and and it doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a process and it takes tons of time, lots of work and in the end it comes together. This gives my type A personality the reminder to enjoy the process. No pressure from me on length of video or frequency. I like to see it all whenever you have the time to make and post. Keep up the great work Brian, you are an inspiration 😊🌸🌱🌻☀️
Amazing planing! More of everything please, length, detail and how often❤
I love garden tour….like a kid on Xmas gotta see what you get
I love the garden tours! It is hard to see all the progress you have made in your other videos, but I really enjoy seeing the changes and designs. It helps me too to think about a workflow to build my new garden too 🙂 If you happen to figure out what happened to your garlic, please share! I have the same issue this year, and I have no clue what happens. I cannot wait to see your cottage garden in full bloom 🤩
We live not far from you, in Harbison Canyon, near Alpine. Something was eating my cucumber starts as well. So I started more, put them out in the sun on a high table in the morning under cover of some netting and brought them inside at night……until night before last when I forgot. Next morning, sure enough several had been chomped off! Something loves those tender cucumber leaves! Since we have been inundated with earwigs, I picked up the cucumber starting pots (a reused 6 pack container) and sure enough, there they were! The little bas****s were hiding underneath. Right next to these cucumber starts were some pumpkin starts and some tomato starts. Those have sat there for about a month and nothing is eating them! Just the cukes. Check for earwigs!
Love the garden tour… once a month would be great!
Thanks for the garden tour! It is nice to see what blooms throughout the year in your gardens! I live pretty closely to you and my Sweet Pea plants are at least 5 feet tall. In the front yard, that faces East, they are already in bloom. In the back yard, that faces West, there are only a few flowers so far. I had Pyracantha plants years ago, and the Cedar Waxwings used to visit them in cooler weather. They love to eat the berries!
Once turnips bolt the flavor goes downhill in my opinion, but the problem is they become super woody
After turnips bolt they get woody and not good to eat. Sorry.
Love your tours!
I loved this! I just finished my garden plans, mostly based off of your book! So it was neat for me to see your beds in progress 😊. Im in Wisconsin though….so I have to remind myself of my short growing season vs your long lol. We have snow today 😅 Thanks for all you do!
Loved to see all the changes taking place, please keep them coming each month to see the enhancements you have made and the changes from the season.
Brian, I'm tired just seeing and listening to you talk about everything you've done and are planning on doing! Please tell us how you keep up with all of this yourself!!! By my watch, there aren't enough hours in the day. I have learned so much, I know my tomatoes, and veggies will be a big success this year. Thanks for the great tour.
I personally enjoy seeing a garden tour once a month or at the very least once at the beginning of a gardening season, once in the middle and once at the end of the growing season. Getting to see the newest garden projects that have started and the ones that have been finished. Very exciting to get to see all of the new happenings!
I love that you put the names of the plants in editing, right in the video. It helps me to see the word as well as hear it.
