First of all I'm 71, work out, walk everywhere, good blood pressure etc. My ENT prescribed Venlafaxine 37.5 mg for my Vestibular Migraine that came out of nowhere. He said take it for 2 weeks. I took one at 10am and by Noon my Vertigo was 80% gone. I thought cool.. 2am the next morning I woke up with a blinding headache, and I don't get headaches. But I did read on Web MD you might want to watch your Blood Pressure if you take this. So I decided to take my Blood pressure. 196/121. Yeah off to the Emergency room I went.

I believe mindfulness meditation contributed to my depersonalization disorder which causes more anxiety for me and may not be for everyone. Doing meditation when you feel anxious is a good strategy but not as a prevention.
My VA doctor prescribed me clonidine for panic disorder and agoraphobia but I am nervous about taking it. I am out of work for almost 2years due to unable drive alone. He said to check blood pressure while starting it and I grabbed my monitor just to see and I get anxious every time I use a monitor to check blood pressure so it reads higher. Not super high just in the range of the stage 1 hypertension. I have heard so much better reviews on Propranolol for anxiety than Clonidine and I have heard more bad with the Clonidine than the Propranolol. I'm not taking any meds except for Omeprazole 40mg DR. I have heart palpitations but I feel they are related to the anxiety. I get nervous about taking medicine and get anxious about how it's going to make me feel. Hard to exercise when I am constantly worrying about my heart with the palpitations and now the blood pressure being high and out of breath when going upstairs and only a 39 year old male. My testosterone is also lower at 300ng/dl last time I checked it.

I just started journaling today. And taking walks yesterday. I don’t drink caffeine or alcohol because my body reacts negatively. My anxiety causes my heart to race and my muscles to feel weak and my hand tremble. Everyday has become a struggle bit I am determined to find something that will help. I’ve also implemented stretches, yoga and getting sun some and just being outside.
