What’s the Best Diet? Healthy Eating 101
When it comes to dieting, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Everyone has different needs and goals, and the best diet for you will depend on your individual lifestyle and health goals. That said, there are some basic principles of healthy eating that can help you make the best choices for your body.
The Basics of Healthy Eating
The foundation of a healthy diet is eating a variety of nutrient-dense foods. This means focusing on whole, unprocessed foods that are packed with vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients. Eating a variety of foods helps ensure that you get all the nutrients your body needs to stay healthy.
Fruits and vegetables should be the cornerstone of any healthy diet. They are packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber, and they are low in calories. Aim to eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
Whole grains are also an important part of a healthy diet. They are a great source of fiber, B vitamins, and other essential nutrients. Choose whole grain breads, cereals, and pastas over refined grains.
Healthy fats are also an important part of a healthy diet. Healthy fats, such as olive oil, avocados, and nuts, are a great source of essential fatty acids and can help keep you feeling full and satisfied.
Finally, lean proteins are an important part of a healthy diet. Lean proteins, such as fish, poultry, and beans, are a great source of essential amino acids and can help keep you feeling full and satisfied.
Tips for Eating Healthy
Eating healthy doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are some simple tips to help you make the best choices for your body:
• Plan ahead. Planning your meals and snacks ahead of time can help you make healthier choices and avoid unhealthy temptations.
• Eat breakfast. Eating a healthy breakfast can help jumpstart your metabolism and keep you feeling full and satisfied throughout the day.
• Eat mindfully. Take the time to savor your food and enjoy the flavors and textures. Eating slowly can help you feel more satisfied and less likely to overeat.
• Drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated is essential for good health. Aim to drink at least eight glasses of water each day.
• Limit processed foods. Processed foods are often high in calories, sugar, and unhealthy fats. Try to limit your intake of processed foods and focus on whole, unprocessed foods instead.
• Get active. Regular physical activity can help you maintain a healthy weight and improve your overall health. Aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day.

Like the way you explained things I’m very active but my "mindful eating” is not where I would like it to be my addiction is sugar mainly baked good sugar I don’t eat candy and I eat to much refined carbs but like you said I’ve been making small changes and tweaks and being aware by having fruit or every time I’m out at a food place I. Get a fruit bowl I want to incorporate vegetables since those are important too I really like roasted veggies my own doctor told me to cut back on carbs so I will do that
Brilliant advice. Empathic and based on evidence. Thank you
can anyone, please, recommend me a video that just tells me what to eat instead of all that “nutrients” bullshit? like i already know how much i’m supposed to be eating, thank you. but i need help with WHAT to eat. i know they don’t normally just tell you what to eat because every body is different and shit but i am, a beast. i can eat everything in sight, swear. JUST TELL ME WHAT TO EAATTT
Love this!!!!
In his introduction of eating habits, Dr. Mike Evans opens by opening up the controversial topic of weight loss versus the sustainability in changing eating habits. In industrial countries, we have the options of inexpensive foods that are high calorie and low nutrient dense, however on the other hand, food and meals are also a way that people and families can come together and bond. In these industrialized societies, there remains the ethical discussion on whether the cheaper options that hold higher risks for developing medical problems such as cardiovascular problems and diabetes compare equally in terms of accessibility financially and socially compared to higher quality, nutritious alternatives. Dr. Evans touches on the concept of diets to lose weight, fads that celebrities might start, or obsessing about the content of food consumption as short term options that may be “harder to stick to,” but individuals should rather find a pattern to adjust eating habits for a more long term solution. He discusses specific macro and micro nutrient options, such as carbohydrates being healthy in their complex forms as legumes and whole grains compared to the simple, refined sugar form, however these suggestions on how people can approach changing diets does not take into consideration the barriers to access that different communities may have. There remains the challenges of financing healthy options, physical access and vicinity barriers to reaching markets, language barriers, and even individual medical concerns that make the suggested advice not one-size fits all. Dr. Evans closes with suggesting that mindfulness with eating choices is a good place to start, which I agree with as that leaves room for individual choices in what change might mean for each person.
I can only talk from experience, Im 69 now and have only ever been on a diet a couple of times in my whole life, but I know what worked for me, it was simple and I didnt miss the foods that were affected, I gave up eating SUGAR and WHEAT and YEAST, these are the main three things that need to be reined in, obviously SUGAR is easy, Wheat is also easy, YEAST is tricky, but I didnt get hung up about it, I simply threw away my Cereals that were made from wheat and used Oats based cereals, I cut my bread intake down to one slice of toast at breakfast, for breakfast I had a 2 egg omelet with 2 rashes of Streaky Bacon, 2 fried tomatoes and a piece of toast, plus my bowl of cereal and coffee, used Honey for sugar in my cereal, lunch was a healthy salad with either beef or chicken, ate 2 pieces of fruit during the day, then for dinner I ate a meal that consisted of meat and vegetables, I always used Olive Oil for cooking and for salad dressings, I lost a average of 1 Kilo ( 2.2lbs) per week, I went from 92 kgs ( 203 lbs) to 80 kgs ( 176 lbs) in 12 weeks, I was 64 years old when I did this and I only used a Rowing Machine for exercise, unless you have a genuine medical reason for carrying extra weight, then you really dont have an excuse for being over weight and unhealthy.
This video was so helpful and informative! I especially liked the advice about finding the diet that works best for you – it's something that we all need to understand better. Thanks for the tips – they've given me some great ideas for continuing my healthy eating journey!
Im trying to gain weight, this is not relevant so i disliked.
There's nothing wrong with eating healthy, and people should. I would, however, counsel against becoming obsessed with eating healthy, or in living healthy.
Far too many people do exactly that, denying themselves all sorts of pleasures, the aim of which is to extend their life. Yet, without many of those pleasures, life simply isn't worth extending, or living, for that matter.
I've never understood the attitude of living on some rigid, regimented diet or daily schedule. Such tediousness is insanity-inducing. Why someone would want to live that way, AND make that insufferably boring and wasted life last LONGER is beyond me…🤣
As a Canadian, I'm excited that Canada was mentioned lol

I highly enjoyed this video, I Hold my weight very well. People look at me and think I’m a 250 lb tank, but really I’m over 330 and get out of breath just by walking up the stairs. My problem has always been what and how much I eat. This video really opened my eyes that it’s much more of a mental battle of perception, more than just a battle of weight gain and weight loss.

Absolutely amazing! The only time anyone will disagree with this is if they're trying to sell you something. I switch to a kosher diet so I can guarantee the content of my food. Then I did away with all but my 8 oz. whisky glasses and got a 32 oz. Gatorade squeeze bottle. This makes drinking water fast, easy and I don't have to fill the bottle as often. If I drink anything else I only get 8 oz. at a time. That gave me the discipline to slowly add things to or remove them from my diet. Getting ride of my microwave and not using my freezer was the next best thing I ever did for my diet. Good food isn't cheap or easy, it takes time to grow and cook.
Such an awesome video, better than many movies and series episodes we see on TV and the net these times and so much more important to our life and nurturing good habits. Thank you and bravo! Great information and charming graphics!
came to me , my diabetes 2 and HSV was so frustrating that I was going insane , then some friends introduced me to DR OGBEBOR HERBAL CENTRE on YouTube ,after 3weeks of taking the herbal medicine and cleanser which he shipped to me , I went back for my test and both results came out negative.❤
THIS IS ALL BULLSHIT!!!!!!!
ITS SIMPLE STOP DRINKING SODA STOP EATING FAST FOOD STOP EATING FOOD WITH HIGH SUGAR CONTENT AND CORN SU4GAR AND THATS IT!!! AND KEEP IT MOVING!!!!
A well planned vegan diet is proved to be healthy for all humans in all stages of life. Therefore is a moral obligation to go vegan because veganism is not just one diet, but is an ethical position against needless harm to animals. Watch "Dominion" and will see how is not justified to cause such cruelty to animals when we could actually simply avoid it by going vegans. Humans kills 3 trillion animals a year for food when we could avoid it by eating vegetables instead. Is also better for environment, you could watch cowspiracy and seaspiracy.
I feel sick all the time because my family always buys unhealthy food with like, no nutrition. But I’m a minor so there’s not much I can do for myself 🥲
I'm currently eating healthier and staying off sweets for a month or more to loose weight because I have eaten to much chocolate haha
I think the misconception about a vegan diet is thinking omg i have to eat fruits and vegetables for sustenance when this couldn't be further from the truth. The food industry have certainly pulled a wool over everyone's eyes for decades hmm
It is not the formula but the pattern! That may be the best summarization right there
Every time I hear "it's a lifestyle" my serotonin plummets.
Intermittent fasting and whole foods..be active:walk
I got cured from diabetes type 2 after using the effective medications I got from Dr. Umoru who I came across on his YouTube channel.
Natural Whole Foods high in antioxidants and poly phenols have the highest micronutrient value per calorie and thus are likely to give your body what it needs. Eat whole natural foods with colorful fruits and veggies. Also include beans, berries nuts and seeds. Mushrooms, raw onions, garlic should be included. Green vegetables, including cruciferous vegetables are a must. The healthiest diet is composed of the healthiest foods. Avoid red meat and processed meat, oils, salt and sweeteners. Reduce meat to a very small portion. Eliminate processed, prepared and fast foods. The idea that active fat people live longer than relatively sedentary thin people is probably a distortion of the data. Being overweight promotes cancer and chronic disease particularly heart disease and diabetes. Every pound of body weight that you carry shortens your life and pushes you toward chronic illness. It’s better to keep your BMI to around 21 to 24.
We love this video because it clarifies that the best diet is one that’s best for you since there is no exact formula for a proper diet that fits all of us since our needs may differ. Staying healthy is important, but it doesn’t mean that you’ve got to suffer eating boring food. It can be pretty challenging to figure that out on your own specifically if you’re not that familiar with cooking. Thanks to Reviving Mind’s health and wellness coaches for helping us out with this and many more to help us stay healthy and live longer.

Should fruit only be for dessert or can it be a snack between meals
I'm 7 years late to this video… I'm vegan, I don't like sweets or sugary foods, and I eat only whole fruits, vegetables, etc. Is that okay to do? I understand the 80/20 rule, but I'm not sure if I'm considered "healthy" or not. I'm just curious, hope someone can help me out.
Thank you. Very nice video!
Great video… however you repeat the first word of your sentences so often. “Or or maybe you try…” “And and do this food”… etc

My boyfriend knows I'm finally trying to be healthier so he sent me this. I put off watching it because I love junk food and listening to someone tell me for 15 minutes how bad it is for me and what will happen to me if I keep eating it is so depressing and scary. That's what I thought the video would be like. This was the most encouraging and least bleak and depressing health/nutrition video I've ever seen. Thank you for making this, and for including statistics and studies to back it up.
Thank you sm for this video
