Cancer Prevention – No Quick Fix
Cancer is a devastating disease that affects millions of people around the world. It is the second leading cause of death globally, and the number of cases is increasing every year. While there is no single cure for cancer, there are steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of developing the disease. In her TEDxQueensU talk, Priyanka Gogna discusses the importance of cancer prevention and how it can be achieved.
Gogna begins her talk by discussing the current state of cancer prevention. She notes that while there has been progress in the field, there is still much work to be done. She points out that many people are unaware of the steps they can take to reduce their risk of developing cancer. She also notes that there is no “quick fix” for cancer prevention, and that it requires a holistic approach.
Gogna then goes on to discuss the various strategies that can be used to reduce the risk of developing cancer. She emphasizes the importance of lifestyle changes, such as eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol consumption. She also discusses the importance of early detection and screening, as well as the role of immunization in preventing certain types of cancer.
Gogna then moves on to discuss the role of public policy in cancer prevention. She notes that governments have a responsibility to ensure that their citizens have access to the resources and information they need to reduce their risk of developing cancer. She also discusses the need for increased funding for research into cancer prevention and treatment.
Finally, Gogna discusses the importance of education in cancer prevention. She notes that it is essential for people to be informed about the risks of cancer and the steps they can take to reduce their risk. She emphasizes the need for public health campaigns to raise awareness about cancer prevention and to encourage people to make healthy lifestyle choices.
Gogna’s talk is an important reminder that cancer prevention is not a quick fix. It requires a holistic approach that includes lifestyle changes, early detection and screening, immunization, public policy, and education. By taking these steps, we can reduce the risk of developing cancer and improve the lives of those affected by the disease.

Absolutely untrue. I have known 5 people who did everything right. Health. Exercise. Diet. No smoking. No alcohol. You cant play god. The evidence shows that there is no way to prevent cancer. Use your percentages but all the statistics still lead to the fact that maybe you can change your cancer prevention by 5 to 10 percent. It is unavoidable. So stop lying to us.
