You’re videos are fantastic!! ❤
Would really appreciate inseam information/options for your pants and jeans recommendations. It is hard to find fashionable options with long inseams. Thanks!
Best part of the video …. the last minute… do you feel good in the piece?
Good video.
Jewelry is my last one item to invest in…but it takes time to build this kind of wardrobe depending on your budget. Totally worth it in the end.
LOVE this video!Just what I needed to make me aware of my true essential pieces.Only own 4 pieces of costume jewellery and they are adorable earrings that I have worn for the last 15 years.
The sock bootie is the only one I do not have, simply because I could no longer wear heels.
Always always check the materials even with designer brands. Just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it’s made with real leather etc. There are videos from Tanner man on YT where he buys designers bags and tips them apart to see what they are really worth. A lot aren’t the high end materials one would think!
I can’t believe that I’ve never heard of sock booties before watching you! Maybe it’s because I live in the South. I’m headed to my Nordstrom app to see if they have them 🙂
I can't even say how much costume jewelry I have. Jewelry boxes full. Big statement necklaces etc. Lots of color and big dangling earrings. Lots of cheap colorful scarves and shoes I've never worn. So much excess. Nothing in my closet would be considered good quality. That was my fashion style for 60 years. Quantity over quality. In the past year or so, I've been trying to find my new style and can have a closet where everything fits me and I love. Now retired. 62. Menopausal weight gain. Living in Florida so its hot. A big change from my life in Maine. No longer working in a law firm and dressing up every day. I find myself gravitating to videos like this with classics and scaled down wardrobes and capsule wardrobes which was totally not me lol. It's going to take awhile but I'm going to begin the process of buying quality basics and reinventing me for life now in my 60s. I can't give up color but definitely need to focus on quality instead of fast fashion. And no more polyester! 😅 Really need to buy cotton and linen and silk living here. I've got alot of work to do! Love your videos 🙂
would love to find the cute blue top you're wearing in video
Have had these all at some point but don't currently have aviators and won't get them again.
Erin, please help me..
In a previous video, i commented my measurements and you replied that I'm an inverted triangle. But I'm confused… I think I'm a combination of both inverted triangle and rectangle. Is it possible to have a combination body shape?? If yes, how should I style myself?? Please reply ❤
How do you keep your white sneakers white?!?! I just bought a pair of white Nikes and have no idea how to clean them. I did a Google search on it but I am hesitant to use the tips I read about.
Great video!! I own all these pieces minus the handbag. I’m looking at a few options.
Just got a beautiful scarve from Pendleton in black, tan, and grey…..which matches everything I own. I was so excited to see scarves on the list!
I’d like to know what you are wearing in this video. Is it a blouse? Or a dress? Where from? Thanks for letting me know 😊
How do you suggest we identify these classics when they are released? Eg the Balenciaga blazer, yes amazing and you’ve done well with it, but it has been around for a while and I’m reluctant to spend that money on it now. Would have considered it years ago if I could look into the future and see that it wasn’t a trend piece
Great video. It’ll be great if you can make some videos on classics & styling for men & kids. Or if you have any favorite stylists on YouTube or insta, pls share!
Love a classic Jackie Kennedy sunglasses
Hi , I have a lot of clothes and still struggle at age 60 on what to wear I have classics and basics but believe or not I like bohemian style , I’m struggling because I like the interesting pieces I feel like I’m wearing art , because it’s not popular I have got rid of so much , I decided at my age who cares so my question is could you show how to use basic classics with a added boho piece or does that look stupid .
I love structured bags
Erin t would love to see how you style your silk scarf. I recently bought one and I am struggling to add it to my outfits (care kits would also be great)
Got ‘‘em all, except had not picked up on the versatility of a sock bootie! Hmmm…. Will be on the lookout! Thanks, love it! PS where’s your helper Travi??
I have always preferred classic pieces over trends, much more sustainable.
LOVE IT! I have every single thing you mentioned but you left out a BIGGIE… a WELL CUT, High Quality Black Leather Jacket! I have some beautiful ones made in Florence but my most worn is my All Saints Biker Jacket. I could literally survive with faded blue jeans, black jeans, black t, white t, Black Balmain, Black Leather Jacket, Black Gucci Belt, Black Booties & Black cowboy boots! Add a Blk/Wht Chanel Scarf, gold chain, gold wedding rings, and diamond studs. I've worn an outfit from this collection building houses in Mexico, traveling Europe, Clubbing in Nashville AND to dinner at Mar a Lago.
Hi! I had to jump on here and tell you that your skin is absolutely beautiful. You are glowing! I looked back at your thermage video and I WANT to do that too! You are confirmation that this is what I want. 🙂 I hope you are doing well! Love your videos!
I have all of these pieces except the sock booties! Thank you, Erin for another great video!!! 💖💖💖
What would help me is finding quality bottoms, trousers and jeans, in long lengths. I know that isn't your focus. I struggle finding low rise, long pants. I'm short waisted with a 35" inseam. When i find the perfect pair I don't care how much they cost, most of the time.
The white button up is not a staple for everyone… White actually makes me look ill. If you get a button up, make sure the color looks good on you!
A scarf must be printed on both sides to present expensive. The Lily silk scarves for example, are not printed both sides. It doesn't have to be designer or high end. White pants pockets must be lined in a neutral shade because if it is lined in white, again doesn't look expensive. If you have white pants where you see the pockets, take them to the taylor to exchange it for a fabric close to your skintone. Jeans back pockets must sit high on the bum and the zip in the front be long. Plain or plastic buttons on a shirt or blazer can easily be exchanged for a more expensive look, pearl, fabric covered, leather or metalic buttons. Again, small changes to any garment regardless if it is expensive, designer or thrifted.
Hi Erin,
I’m considering investing in the Chloe Nama a sneakers. I have a couple pairs of Golden Goose but going on a trip to Europe and wonder if the Chloe’s are better for lots of walking?
Great video! Style meets strategy! I might have to try that tip with two pairs of jeans 👖
Hi. Love your videos, but I live in the UK. Would it be possible for you to add links to sites that have similar items that are based in the UK?
My family appreciates fine jewelry as it holds its value, it’s a personal and thoughtful gift as well; your insight guides me on how to shop, style, get the most wear out of my own “jewelry drobe”🙏🏻 I enjoy collecting Coach bags as well as a local designer- I change my bag often with my outfits so I won’t (and don’t need to) spend more than $500 on a handbag. Quality shoes! So Important to wear ones that can be cleaned, repaired, and hold their structure. And coats too… bring an outfit together and need to be intentional, I have a few silhouettes- yet to add a blazer- have my eyes on a new Veronica Beard boutique in my area – I’m obsessed with the enamel flower buttons, and uncompromising quality 🤩 will certainly be a worthy investment piece.
By the way, on fabric of sneakers, Thousand Fell and many other leather-ish shoes are easy to wipe, but Vivaia has a machine washable white. I purchased a pair and washed twice now and they're great. BUT they run about a size big. The laces have stretch which is fun too. You may want to try them. Great customer service company. : )
Thank you for the sock bootie photos! I have a black pair that I've only worn with a long skirt or jeans. I love your ideas. 🙂
Fo pointed toe flats, I went for Vivaia. They are too shallow for my arch support inserts, but They're adorable and wash well. Yes, washable!
I'm actually almost completely out of jewelry right now because those low cost pieces didn't last. And the one I purchased on Etsy that was supposed to be real gold… it's been silver for years so I just wore it out until it broke. Feeling deflated. I realized I'll have to invest in a couple higher end pieces.
Basic, timeless pieces are always a good idea. However, one can find quality items for less than $100 or even $50 that will hold up for years. I have never purchased an item of clothing over $100. And I’ve had items that are older than my son who is turning 17 next week. You don’t have to spend a lot, but you do need to look at how it’s made.
I have a few Celine and Chloe bags. Mulberry is my favorite. It’s not as popular in the U.S. but is very classic for handbags and more affordable than Celine. I sold all my Chanel and LV bags because they became too popular in my opinion. I do still have a Gucci belt bag for travel in red though.
You nailed it girl !
I love the blazers but not a fan of the oversize or super puffy shoulder pads-have you found certain seasons of Balamin or Veronica Beard vary on this?
I gave up high end logo handbags, shoes and sunglasses years ago. Im going the quiet luxury route. As for shoes, Stan Smith is the way to go and I purchase/support local jewelry, especially southwest which in itself is timeless.
I think you should go with a sunglass that fits your face shape and looks good on you … it may well not be an aviator or the other style you mentioned
Erin, I love your channel but I have a question. You're petite and you look fantastic in aviators, but why are you wearing them so oversized? Is that the trend? I recently got a couple of new pairs and really paid attention to the size this time around. The average width is between 52-55mm but you can also get them in 49-50mm. They fit like a glove if you have a smaller face. Anyway, sorry!! This is a genuine question and I truly do love your videos. I'm just curious about the size. Thanks – great video!
