Easy Thanksgiving Turkey
Thanksgiving is a time for family, friends, and of course, turkey. But cooking a turkey can be a daunting task, especially if you’re a novice cook. Fortunately, there are some simple steps you can take to ensure that your turkey is cooked to perfection. Here’s how to cook and carve the best turkey recipe for your Thanksgiving feast.
Ingredients
Before you begin, you’ll need to gather the ingredients for your turkey. You’ll need a turkey, of course, as well as butter, salt, pepper, and any other seasonings you’d like to use. You’ll also need a roasting pan, a thermometer, and some aluminum foil.
Preparing the Turkey
Once you have all of your ingredients, it’s time to prepare the turkey. Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, remove the giblets and neck from the turkey and discard them. Rinse the turkey inside and out with cold water, and pat it dry with paper towels.
Next, rub the turkey with butter and season it with salt, pepper, and any other seasonings you’d like to use. Place the turkey in the roasting pan, and cover it with aluminum foil.
Cooking the Turkey
Once the turkey is prepared, it’s time to cook it. Place the roasting pan in the preheated oven and cook the turkey for about 15 minutes per pound. Use a thermometer to check the internal temperature of the turkey. The turkey is done when the thermometer reads 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Once the turkey is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before carving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the turkey, making it juicier and more flavorful.
Carving the Turkey
Once the turkey has rested, it’s time to carve it. Start by removing the legs and thighs. Then, remove the wings. Finally, remove the breast meat. Slice the breast meat into thin slices, and serve.

Looks undercooked
I keep reverting to this recipie over and over. Probably close to 5 times now. Not that you’d want to find out on your own, but from personal experience it is also very forgiving if you overcook.
nice
you saved christmas!!!!!!!!! everyone loved the turkey I made following your recipe!
Hey guys, i am about to cook turkey. I compared some of other recipes and I found that they recommend to cover the legs and breast with foil. According to this recipe, it doesn’t. Is it because of the oven temperature?
forgot the cup and a half to 2 cups warm water at the bottom of the pan before roasting
The best turkey we ever ate! Thank you

I've never cooked a turkey before. But I was always told that if there's pink meat it's not cooked. But in your video there was pink/red meat where you cut the legs off. Is that OK? Sorry but I really have no clue
Is it cooked all the way everywhere? It looks so pink and raw around the bones while you’re cutting it up in the video 😮
I did my first Turkey this year, my husband like it so much he asked me to prepare it again for his office Christmas party. Thank you for the recipe. Do you have a video for Turkey left overs?
Do you suggest tenting the turkey to prevent burning or the breast skin getting too dark. If you do , do you think tenting first and taking it off for the last hour or at the end when the skin is getting dark? TIA
Thaw 2-4 days is gone of a broad spectrum???
But it looks under done? On the bottom. why not use a shallow pan so more browns? Under
Can I add lemon to the butter herb?
Thanks a lot Lisa. My wife just bought a 8,6kg Turkey "out of the blue" and she is expecting me to cook it. I usually manage to "salvage" us through most of her "whims", but this one really got me scared. Now after watching your video, I feel somewhat relieved. Hopefully we will not only manage, but have a nice dinner for a LOT of people. Greetings from Sweden.
What oven temperature did you use?
Some of that looks to pink still, you need to slide it back in the oven for another hour or two.
