3 Interior Designers Transform The Same Kid’s Bedroom
When it comes to designing a kid’s bedroom, there are so many possibilities. From bright and bold colors to whimsical themes, the options are endless. To show just how versatile a kid’s bedroom can be, three interior designers were asked to transform the same room. Each designer had their own unique vision and approach, resulting in three very different looks.
Designer 1: A Playful and Colorful Space
The first designer opted for a playful and colorful space. The walls were painted a bright blue, and the bed was covered in a fun patterned quilt. To add a touch of whimsy, the designer hung a colorful mobile above the bed. The room was also filled with plenty of storage solutions, including a bookshelf and a toy chest. To complete the look, the designer added a few fun accessories, such as a rug and a few wall art pieces.
Designer 2: A Cozy and Relaxing Space
The second designer opted for a cozy and relaxing space. The walls were painted a soft gray, and the bed was covered in a cozy quilt. To add a touch of warmth, the designer hung a few string lights above the bed. The room was also filled with plenty of storage solutions, including a bookshelf and a toy chest. To complete the look, the designer added a few cozy accessories, such as a rug and a few wall art pieces.
Designer 3: A Modern and Minimalist Space
The third designer opted for a modern and minimalist space. The walls were painted a crisp white, and the bed was covered in a simple quilt. To add a touch of sophistication, the designer hung a few geometric wall art pieces above the bed. The room was also filled with plenty of storage solutions, including a bookshelf and a toy chest. To complete the look, the designer added a few modern accessories, such as a rug and a few wall art pieces.
Space Savers
No matter which design style you choose, it’s important to make sure that the room is functional and organized. To maximize the space, each designer incorporated a few space-saving solutions. For example, the first designer used a bookshelf to store books and toys, while the second designer used a toy chest to store toys and games. The third designer used a combination of shelves and baskets to store items.
Conclusion
These three designers prove that a kid’s bedroom can be transformed into a variety of different looks. From playful and colorful to cozy and relaxing, the possibilities are endless. No matter which design style you choose, it’s important to make sure that the room is functional and organized. By incorporating a few space-saving solutions, you can make sure that the room is both stylish and practical.

Third one looks like a prison! Or q mental institution. The tiles on the wall….. wall paper or whatever is ghastly. No chandelier can save that room
I didn't like Noz's designs because they're pretty out there but I miss Noz..come back Noz!
No client, no restrictions, no budget limit, it’s literally whatever the designers think of. People are weird with their reviews of these projects especially judging functionality, etc. I actually really enjoy the crazy ideas that used to be shown before, nowadays the projects are all on a safe, realistic side…
A kid’s room for parents intending to send that child to boarding school in Switzerland.
Darren did the best child's room. I love the daybed, the desk, the under water wall paper and the short curtains. I like Chiara's room for a French little girl. I can her a little French girl, "maman je taime e mi coche." Look at the yellow side table. I do not like Jenny's room at all. Jenny's room looks like a jail cell to me. Yeah, Darren's room design is the best for a child.
The last thing i would use for a kid's room is vegetation, I mean pot with a plant and childen around… Not my favorite Idea
Darren's always my favorite <3
Jenny's room is awesome too, all the textures she chosed creates a very comfy room <3
Darren won. I think we are going to start seeing more fantasy inspired interior design.
Jenny, who hurt you? That’s a room you used for timeout.😅
Darren hits the ball out of the park again! That room is packed full of fantasy just as a kids room should! I would have had all the princess tea parties in there!
I would like to know who the client is – it makes a difference in determining the design.
Oh. We brought back Jenny…
Darren won me with the Little mermaid castle ! A detail !
Darren’s room is amazing. Truly.
Keep Darren and bring back Laura, Alvin and Lula, please. Need I explain why?
Jett feels BONITA!!
These ladies are very boring
none of these rooms look at all like they’re for a kid; darren’s room is the best and jenny’s is ok but what the heck is chiara’s?? literally like everything she added i was like … that’s not safe for a kid??
Jennys room looks like a swedish prison room
Jennys rendering doesn’t do it justice. The real wallpaper looked way better. But the bed and the sofa have just too many edges for me. I bumped into everything as a child!
Darren amazing job
Darren is great, but PLEASE don‘t support fishbowls! Every fish deserves enrichment, space, algae to hide and plenty of oxygen in the water of a filtered aquarium!! ❤🐠
Suggestion for Jenny: listen to the way you speak. You are consistently ending your sentences with a higher voice. This makes it sounds like you are always asking a question rather than making a statement. It makes you sound unsure of yourself and can undermine your message. This is a common issue for many women but paying attention to your rhythm of speech can really help you sound more self assured and confident! Hope that is helpful feedback
Darren put himself in a kid's state of mind and that's why his room actually looks like a kid's room…the other two are a little bit cold and feels like they're for guests
Chiara's desk makes NO SENSE. Where do all their school papers go? What if they have more than three books? Crayons? Markers? Arts and crafts? I wouldn't even give this desk to a child I hate.
These are so enjoyable!
I love how everyone was creating their childhood dream room
I like the climbing butterfly’s of chiara
Darren's the best as always!
Chiara's nice but it looks more like a fun guest room to me.
Jenny's a bit boring and it looks more like a kinda serious/boring teenager rather than a kids.
Also I feel like they all missed the storage? Kids have a lot of stuff! I mean Darren made those built-ins but I don't think they're that enough you know?
Love these series, AD! I'm the biggest fan!
Darren eats every. single. time.
Darren is always very clever at arranging everything. Even if you don’t like his designs (which I doubt it) you should appreciate how smart he is at arranging spaces.
even as an adult, I would be delighted to sleep in Darren's design!! 😍 so beautiful
❤🤍💙 all your videos mam👍
Darren did an amazing job with designing a child’s room. The other two’s designs were not thoughtful of kids’ usage. It’s like they’re designing to just please the parents.
(edit: grammar)
Darren‘s room is fabulous! Subtle fantasy if you ask me. I would live there in a heartbeat!
I know there's no restriction with this one but honestly speaking, Jenny and Chiara's design didn't speak "Kid's Room" to me.
I felt that each design emphasized one element each: water (Darren), earth (Jenny) and air (Chiara); not much fire or ether, though, and my inner child still wants fire and magic. How would that translate into design?
I do always enjoy Darren's energy and passion
Darren's room was fantasy made beautiful yet functional without being sugary or childish. The neutral room was depressing and in need of energy and light and color. Viewing the dark wallpaper room, I loved the bed but the bookshelf near the ceiling was just too odd to like the room.
I love Darren's design 😍
Storage? where is the kid supposed to put his toys/stuff/clothes? Darren is the only one with a little storage but come on…
Jenny's room would make me feel like being wrapped in a band-aid
I rarely put negative comments but can AD switch out Jenny Kaplan? This is not the first time and with the A-frame and kids room she's obviously not contributing a creative element in the blank room. We can see a load of comments saying her room looks like a boring dorm room and I am sure there are many designers out there who can create something more unusual.
Darren wins this one for me!
Darren's room is THE perfect bedroom for a kid, Jenny's is actually great but I think for a teenager and Chiara's… her room looks like a very strange mix between a kid's and a grown-up's room 🤔
