Thrift Store Makeovers: Farmhouse DIY Room Decor on a Budget!
Thrift store makeovers are a great way to add a unique, personal touch to your home without breaking the bank. With a little creativity and some elbow grease, you can transform thrift store finds into beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces of farmhouse-style decor. Whether you’re looking to spruce up a single room or give your entire home a makeover, these thrift store makeover ideas will help you create a cozy, rustic atmosphere without spending a fortune.
1. Start with a Color Palette
Before you start shopping for thrift store finds, it’s important to decide on a color palette. This will help you narrow down your search and ensure that all of your pieces coordinate with each other. For a farmhouse-style look, opt for neutral colors like white, gray, and beige, and then add pops of color with accent pieces like throw pillows or wall art.
2. Look for Pieces with Potential
When shopping for thrift store finds, look for pieces that have potential. This could be anything from a dated dresser to an old chair that needs a little TLC. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and look for items that you can repurpose or upcycle. For example, an old ladder can be transformed into a bookshelf or a vintage window frame can be used as a picture frame.
3. Get Creative with Paint
One of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to give thrift store finds a makeover is with paint. Whether you’re painting furniture or accessories, choose a color that complements your color palette and get to work. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even try out a few different techniques like distressing or stenciling.
4. Add Farmhouse-Style Accents
Once you’ve finished painting your thrift store finds, it’s time to add some farmhouse-style accents. This could be anything from a rustic mirror to a distressed wooden sign. You can also add a few plants to give your space a cozy, natural feel.
5. Accessorize with Thrift Store Finds
Finally, accessorize your space with thrift store finds. Look for items like vintage vases, baskets, and trays that can be used to store and display items. You can also add a few throw pillows or blankets to give your space a cozy, inviting feel.

I love the pig and wheel barrel
I wanna steal your wheel barrow….so adorable! Also..I feel you can use flesh pink color for your pig..farm to table….just a thought…still cute👌
Love your diy. Thanks for ideas
I am obsessed with pigs!! I had a potbellied pig named Briar. She was 15 yrs old and passed away 2 yrs ago. She thought she was a dog. We miss her so much!!
Very cute
Cute ideas! Love the pig how funny but came out really cute.
Lovely
In the very beginning of the video, there's a sign on the shelf behind you to the to right of the star lamp. Did you make that? If yes, do you have a tutorial? I'm guessing it is a picture frame with a handle and hinges added. But are the words a sticker or hand painted? Thanks!
👍👍👍 V e r y n i c e 👍👍👍
Drives me crazy, you all talk exactly the same, with all of the silly inflections of Valley Girls lol Love the makeovers, hate the fakespeak.

Love your creative makeovers! 💗 Quick question: the cabinet door in your opening with the lead you home saying on it, was that a diy or did you purchase it somewhere? I love it! Thanks for sharing!

All of them are so cute ❤
Love both of your projects, but I can't believe how great you made the popcorn bucket look, it was a great idea!!! You just couldn't imagine how many of those buckets I have saved over the years, and would end up putting them in the recycle bin. I would need space for other projects and I could never figure out what I wanted to do with them, besides store things in them. Next time I get one, I know what I'll be making!! Thanks for the share!!!
I love the wheelbarrow!!!!! I wish I could find one!!
The bucket is such a neat idea. Great to do with the lift over popcorn tins. Hope I remember next time I have one.

Very cute thrifted items 💕
Reusing the farm animals off of the dollar tree sign was genius! The wheelbarrow jumped 30 years and became trendy!
Adorable crafts love them
Very cute!!
Cute ideas but I have to say all these "farmhouse" crafts are darling except when someone puts "farm to table" or "bacon" on a pig cutting board. We have become a society desensitized to the horrible cruelty animals suffer to end up on a plate. They have feelings and truly want to live. They fight with all they have as they are being slaughtered. Especially pigs. They are smarter than dogs. I know I will be bashed or this comment will be deleted, however I wish people would just give it some thought. On my piggy cutting board I stenciled "Vegan for the animals." I truly appreciate your crafts enjoy your channel. 💚
