Number 11 FTW! I've been plant-based for over a year now and the healthiest I've been in my entire adult life. I recently (finally) gave up eggs and fish and the number one thing people say is how nutrient deficient I will be…even more so than when I went mostly plant based. I feel even better after going 100% plant-based, yet all my overweight, chronically ill, low-energy friends continue to caution me on my diet! It's madness.
Walking 26miles average all year round.
Cycling on zwift.
6days vegetarian, and fruit,nuts.
Love your channel but there have been multiple salmonella outbreaks in the US around spinach.
I'm 2yrs into whole food plant based eating but still having problems getting off stuff like fast food chicken, or seafood. I keep giving in to temptation. Any helpful tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
When i gave up diary, gluten and sugar, some 20 years ago, all my cravings disappeared in no time. I kept on eating tons of vegetables, some fruit, nuts and chicken and fish.
I was doing some sort of exercise daily, and made sleeping a priority. Three years ago I ran into trouble. First long covid, which kept me on the couch for some 8 months. When I started to feel better I went back to exercising, not realising how much muscle I had lost. During one exercise I lost my balance and injured my back. Totally that kept me on the couch for another 4 months. Next they found I had colon cancer, so operation and chemo. So I asked around how I could get through this and the answer I got from allsides was: go keto. Cancer loves sugar, so go extremely low carb. I can't golower than say 80 grams a day. To protect my muscles I needed to eat as much protein as I could. Being nauseous all the time didn't help, but I got through without losing more weight, my hair or throwing up. After 5 months I was improving nicely, bicycling a bit, walking a bit, doing some light exercising. Then my back started acting up again, so back to the couch.😢
I'm ready to try veganism, again, but how about being low carb?
If cancer loves carbs shouldn't I avoid it like the plague?
Also, as I can't exercise properly now I better not eat too many calories, but still need to get a lot of protein.
At the moment I'm trying, and loving, your recipies, but I still eat eggs to get more protein without getting more carbs.
What about gaining muscle? That’s where my fear is. I stopped eating meat and went to an all plant diet. But I don’t want to lose weight.
Why not use miso instead of salt?
#10 is so true
